Tap Dance Classes in Nottingham
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. The roots of tap dance trace back to 19th century America, with primary influences from African and Irish dances and rhythms.
Our tap dance classes in Nottingham are separated into two levels. In our beginners class your tap dance teacher will teach you basic steps, exercises, combinations, and music theory, and in the intermediate level class you will learn additional techniques and learn more complex exercises and combinations, technique of phrasing steps together, tap dance with more confidence,. It will also be combined with rhythm tap which focuses more on musicality, where many tap dancers or “tappers” consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition.
